Late summer restocking in Maiella

We are happy to share this video that our leader, Maiella National Park, sent us, where, in recent days, about a thousand Mediterranean trout were released into the Orta and Orfento rivers.
The trout, raised in the Abruzzo Region hatchery after careful genetic selection, will help strengthen the native trout populations, compromised by the presence of alien trout.
The initiative follows the “selective fishing” activity conducted by volunteer fishermen and represents an important step towards the restoration of the local fish fauna.
