The LIFE STREAMS project “Salmo ceTtii REcovery Actions in Mediterranean Streams” – LIFE18 NAT / IT / 000931 has as its main objective the recovery of the native Mediterranean trout (Salmo cettii) in 6 pilot areas of the Italian territory through the planning and adoption of concrete and coordinates conservation actions.

The 6 pilot areas are located in Sardinia and in the protected areas of the Majella National Park, Montemarcello-Magra-Vara Regional Park, Foreste Casentinesi National Park, Monte Falterona and Campigna, Monti Sibillini National Park and Pollino National Park.

The project also aims to develop a wide-ranging global strategy to recover and improve the conservation status of Salmo cettii not only in the project areas, but also in the so-called “transferability areas” present both in our Peninsula and in others European protected areas.
