On Monday 30 May, at 4 pm, the Forestas Agency invites all interested parties to participate in an information workshop to present LIFE STREAMS, the project for the recovery and conservation of native Mediterranean trout populations and to involve all stakeholders (primarily fishermen local) in some of the planned actions, such as selective fishing and site control.
In Sardinia, the Natura 2000 network areas affected by the project also include Monte Limbara; the other sites are the Linas – Marganai, the Supramonte di Orgosolo-Oliena-Urzulei (Su Suercone).
DETAILS OF THE THIRD WORKSHOP
The new workshop is scheduled for Monday 30 May 2022, from 4 to 7 pm at the former Command Building in via delle Terme 3 in Tempio Pausania, and is organized in order to present also in this area:
- actions for the protection of the native species
- the impact of the project on stakeholders
- the involvement of sport fishermen in actions concerning selective fishing
- the control of the sites and the contrast to the repopulation of the streams with alien species (brown trout and rainbow trout).
Among the areas of competence, the LIFE STREAMS project includes interventions in the Monte Limbara SAC.
