Parco Maiella – First fertilizations reproductive season 2022

At the CISI hatchery of the Abruzzo Region, the activities of artificial reproduction of Mediterranean trout for the Maiella Park have been launched in recent days. The stock of reproducers is enriched, genetically tested according to the criteria developed by the Life Streams project.
The more than 42,000 eggs produced so far, obtained by pressing 14 females, were fertilized with sperm from 5 different males, adopting a controlled fertilization method which allows the levels of genetic variability of the offspring to be maintained or increased.
