For the Maiella Park, the phase of interpreting the results of genetics and identifying the sites where to implement the various conservation actions has already been completed a few weeks ago. The workshops with fishermen, fish guards and Forestry CCs for selective fishing, eradication and contrast of releases, which included five online meetings and two face-to-face, are also almost completed.
On Sunday 6 June the last meeting, which will be held on the river, will focus on how to recognize a trout belonging to the Atlantic strain compared to the Mediterranean one, as well as on the methods of genetic sampling. On the same day, the sampling kits, the forms to be filled in and the “Streams Volunteer” identification vests will be distributed.
