STREAMS activities for the repopulation of Mediterranean trout in the rivers of the Maiella National Park continue.
In recent days, approximately 2,000 trout were released in two sites of the Orta river, where the species was present, but in a moderate state of conservation, and another 3,000 in two stretches of the Orfento river.
The intervention aims to strengthen native populations and limit the impact of genetic pollution due to the introduction, in the past, of non-native fish species.
