After the theoretical training, administered totally online last June (given the persistence of the Covid-19 pandemic which makes it impossible to organize it in the presence), we finally moved on to the practical training of technical personnel directly on the field, or directly in the areas interested in the actions of project. The meeting should have started in the Parco delle Foreste Casentinesi on 7 July, but due to a technical problem that meeting was postponed and therefore on 9 July in Majella the practical training of the LIFE Streams project officially started.
Appointment at 9 at “La casa del Lupo” in Caramanico, quick but cordial presentations and then immediately off to the confluence of the Orfento river with the Orta, where first we proceeded to collect specimens to be sampled both numerically and from the point of genetic view.
Each step of the numerous procedures carried out was explained and implemented with scrupulous attention: biological sampling, measurement of the specimens and registration kept all the staff busy until the early afternoon, without stopping.
Now all the collected material will be analyzed and evaluated for the characterization action of habitats and fish populations.
