The LIFE Streams project, as is well known, is not aimed only at the native Mediterranean trout, but also at the entire river ecosystem and at all its components.
Rivers and streams – important habitats for feeding, shelter and refuge for a great variety of animal and plant organisms – also represent ecological corridors essential for maintaining biodiversity, a precious link between often distant natural environments.
From the Maiella National Park, our project leader, here they are two wonderful videos that show us “without filter” the multiple forms of life that pass through the rocks of some watercourses #lifestreams: many animal species – gray heron, blackbird dipper, marten, song thrush – unaware of being filmed, they alternate in the images captured during the day, while at night we find wolves, mice and wild cats.
